Marlin 1894 cowboy

This gun just followed me home and I put it in my safe,for safe keeping. Now I would like to know what I have. I am no cowboy shooter, would have been if I didn't work weekends. 24 inch octagon barrel,stamped on the barrel is 1894 Cowboy Limited. Underneith is stamped ** model 1894 CB-357 mag or 38 spl. ** I have all the factory brochers from 95 to 2012, they built the 24 inch octagon barrel from 97 to 2000, they built 24 inch barrels be for then and after then but not octagon. My problem identifying it is no where in there brochure or the gun blue book is a 1894 Cowboy limited in 357 38 listed. was this a run by one of the big distributors? I think it was sold new in 99or2000 the ser # is 03025904 any help out there Carl in Yakima

This is from 1997 and up and is a stock caliber for this lever gun,it is a cowboy listed as a 24 inch barrel.They made quite a few and are not rare but tough to find because people bought em and dont want to sell them.It is right in my blue book.

thanks for the year it was made,in my blue book of guns and my old marlin catalogs there is not one gun listed that says Cowboy Limited,there is cowboy carbine limited,cowboy II,and century limited but no cowboy limited so I am still looking Carl in Yakima

Look it up in lew horton dist.His company makes alot of short run specials.

Cowboy Special (20" bbl) is common. Cowboy Limited (24" bbl), not so common.
