So I work a lot with small metric bolts
and identifying the 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 3/8 etc
is one of those things where you pick one up and try to read the small inscribing at the base and theres a bunch of other numbers, and part code and..............
WHAT FREAKIN SIZE IS IT???
10mm, Where's the 3/8???
----
So I have at times taken a dremel and diamond tip and scribed it in larger
But, without the right lighting its still hard to read
like the 1st Pic
and I have put paint into the engraving but of course with oil and gas and such, it just comes off
so I am scribing a few today and then it hit me
---
Wait a sec, I just cleaned that down to clean bare metal
I dont even need acetone
I bet I could cold blue the engraved area in and any grease or oil around will prevent the chrome from bluing
if that were possible
Why didn't I think of this before !!!
