I have an Interarms Whitworth Express Rifle in .375 H&H. Even though it has a synthetic stock rather than walnut (sob), it is far and away my favorite rifle. The only problem I have with it is the ridiculous flappy Buehler-style 2-position safety. It is entirely too easy to accidentally bump it to "off", and it doesn't lock the bolt. After carrying the rifle in heavy brush following a wounded black bear some years ago, I had my bolt come open twice due to snags on brush. It might not be an issue in a plains rifle, but in the thick stuff with bears around it can be a literal killer.
Is it possible to put a Model 70 style (or other 3-position) safety on a Mark X action? I know not everything that works with a military Mauser will work with the Mark X. There seem to be a lot fewer Model 70 style safeties on the market than there were back in the Cretaceous when I was gunsmithing. I'm not looking to do it myself; I don't have access to machine tools anymore. I could ask local gunsmiths, but the forum is here and they aren't. I'd also like to have some background when someone tells me "nope, can't be done" or "sure thing, that'll be $1795.00". I don't mind putting some money into it, but when all is said and done, it is still an Interarms rifle, not a Rigby or a Kilimanjaro.
