What is sad is the ones who actually get to use these tools are never the ones who get to pick them. The USMC did a test a long time ago and everyone wanted a 338LM. They upgraded to a new version of the m40. Bean counters will always screw up the deal.

I say give the snipers whatever works the best. Remember they are countersnipers part of the time so if this gives our boys an edge go for it, besides the cost for the lot of rifles is probably less than the cost of an Abrahms tank anyways. We need to be vigilant so lets give the military exactly what they need to do the ugly job to keep us safe and next I want to see better body armor for our troops across the board and more drones(mini) to get in time intelligence so we don't lose anymore of the best guys and woman we have.God Bless all of our troops no matter if they are serving or retired because I cant really say how much respect for all of them.

If the new equipment allows a sniper to eliminate one more bad guy, or save one more innocent life, it's worth every dime. If my son or daughter were in harms way, I want the guy on overwatch using state of the art equipment and know how to use that system to it's full potential.

When the 6.5x47L came out, the Marine Corps did a test run with it. It was just a rebarrel on the M40 7.62 platform. Evidently the testing didn't go well and it wasn't adopted.
The 6.5x47L is just the red headed step cousin of the Creedmoor.
