March with hard to turn parallax knob

my scope has a hard to turn parallax knob. If I add heat to it by way of my wife’s heating pad, it is easy to turn. But hard to shoot with the heating pad, lol. And when I take the heat off it tightens back up.
What can I do? I am thinking the grease inside the scope is old and sticky.
Is there anything short of sending it to Japan to get it repaired?

I have a Sightron scope that’s doing the same thing.

I would contact March and ask them. Best way is to go to their site, click on "About Us" and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. If they don't get back to you within 24 hours, come back here and say so.

If the link to their site in the text above does not work: marchscopes.com

I also had a March. Fixed 40x. Hard parallax knob. One of the darker scopes I've ever looked through. Happy to have sold it.

Cooter. Contact Tatsuya Gomi at Deon. gomi@deon.co.jp He will help u out.

Your right they have great customer service. I had one quit on me at a match 1250 miles from my home in May. Was told that if I sent it to Japan it would be fixed but due to the Covid bullshit Mr. Gomi told me that he couldn't ship it back. Well a month ago he asked me if I didn't mind that they put it on a cargo ship because they can import that way now into the US. I said go ahead and ship it that way. I asked him how much I owed Deon and he said it's taken care of. That scope had to be 10 years old. So much for people who are afraid to buy a March scope because it only has a 5 year warranty. I asked him what was wrong with it and he said something in the eyepiece was faulty. At least they tell the truth unlike NF. When I sent my 15-55 back to them, I told them it wasn't holding POI, which I outright lied to them because I heard a story from a friend of a friend who works for NF that they knew they had a problem with that scope and they had a fix for it so I lied so I could send it back to be looked at. When they sent me an email saying it was all set I called NF and asked them what was wrong with it and they said we didn't find anything wrong with it it was probably your rings because you lapped them. I said to him I don't lap any of my rings. They told two of my friends the same thing when they sent their scope back which both were defective. It was the rings fault. I hate knocking NF because they do support the shooting world but in the same token they take us shooters for a bunch of idiots lying to us the way they do. Same with Leupold. You send one of their so called reliable 45 Comps back to them and when you get it back, their is a note inside saying we couldn't find anything wrong with it but now it magically fixed itself and your rifle is not slinging shots all over the place.

Yep
Same here
I bough a used March 10x60, the tracking was a little wonky. Sent it in, great communication (English translation was a source of laughter on several occasions), no charge. And they replaced the glass at no charge, said it was at the lower end of tolerance, or something like that.

Edit,
I just ordered another March from Optics Planet, they rock!

I have a Sightron Siii 8-32x56 and the parallax is real stiff sent it back they cleaned and checked it said all was fine still stiff. I have seen wheels made for others but not the 8-32x56 if someone knows where to get one let me know

I have the same issue my March 8 - 80x is seasonal the warmer it gets the easier it turns. But i was curious so i contact the Tatsuya Gomi, he responded promptly and provided shipping instructions. He commented that it seemed to happen on older versions (which mine is).

His alternate solution was to purchase one of the dials rings the larger the better; as the scope has no malfunction other than being stiff.

Thanks for the contact info.

I use a medium ring on the March scope parallax adjustment but not for that reason. I'm left handed and it makes it easier to reach and it slows the movement down to make finer adjustments..... jim
