How do you dial out parallax?

I will have to disagree with the article on one point. It is possible to follow the procedure that he recommends for focusing the eyepiece and for it to be ever so slightly out of focus. This is not conjecture, I have seen it many times. The cross hairs will be sharp and black, but when the rifle is set up and the scope focused for absolute peak target sharpness there is a little parallax. The reason that this can and does happen is because of a slight error in focusing the eyepiece.....which can be easily corrected by trial and error by making very small eyepiece adjustments, refocusing on the target, and then checking for parallax. I have done this many times for myself and others. It is really very simple. Once you have both peak target sharpness, and absolutely no parallax you are done. The eyepiece is focused on the exact plane of the reticle, and it will be correct for any other distance as well.

OK Boyd....I guess I should have prefaced my link by saying "It's a nicely done, well informed, well written article and generally the average person will go away with far more knowledge about parallax than they had."
And it (one point aside) is worth reading and understandable.

This is a good read and I do understand things now.
Have read the term lateral parallax adjustment, in the Swarovski handbook.
What is this lateral part referring to, one plane only?
