March vs. Nightforce Repeatability and Reliability

Killick

Transcendental Capitalist
15-55 Comp. vs 10-60 HM for 300-1,000 yards, F-Class. I have read some criticism of the NF that it can be unreliable. Any horror stories or confirmations of reliability for either scope?

I've been a NF user since 2001.
There are 13 NF scopes on rifles in my safe.
I've never had to employ NF customer service for warranty work.
I just shot a 1.75" agg at 600 yards with the latest of the three Comps I own.
NF glass quality is admittedly ahead of March.
Scopes are mechanical; they can and do fail.

I would disagree with that. The Comp is still the nicest, in my opinion, but I won't use one for other reasons.

Edit: and thanks! I was mostly in the same place as everyone else, wondering what Bob Mead was seeing that I wasn't...
Ya, I want the name of his optometrist.

I think we were all wonder that!

I scored for Russel Simmons when he came within one point of winning the F-TR world championships a second time in 2013 with a Sightron, and Adam Macdonald finished 9th in F-TR in the FCWC this yr using one. I'm not trying to say that the Sightron is as nice as some of the other scopes being discussed here, but whether you have a Sightron, a NF, a March, or a Vortex it won't be the scope that puts your shots somewhere other than the 10 ring on an F class target.

The right answer is to get a scope that you are happy using. I've got a NF BR, 2 NF NXS's and a NF Comp.

Personally, I'd like to get behind a Vortex. I'm seriously considering replacing one of my NXSs with one just to give one a try. I like what I know about Vortex, and I've heard good things about their product.

I have 2 Sightrons and have been underwhelmed for a few years now. They function quite well but the quality of the optics leaves something to be desired. Being over 60 I'm looking for a scope with really good glass. Thanks for your input.

Nightforce has reliability issues? That seems to be stretching it quite a bit. I also have 13 NF scopes and never had a single issue.

March 10-60 I owned was a good deal darker than a Nightforce.
