March scopes - tactical reticle?

I've seen a picture of the tactical reticle that March have available for their 10-60x variable, called the MTR-1. Has anyone had any experience of it and if so, is it thicker in width than the BR crosshair?

Also, I've heard rumours that the elev and windage knobs have been re-worked somehow. Any truth to that?

Cheers

Justin

I wrote Kelbly's and all they had was a picture of the reticle...which they sent me. I didn't hang on to it. The only other info. was that that reticle raised the price by...I think $200-$300. They said it was do out by the first of next year.

Good Luck,

Wayne

Sorry I deleted it...maybe someone else has it. It simply seemed to be a standard mil-dot reticle........from the picture anyway. There weren't any other details that could be provided...since the scope itself hasn't been released. I'm sure Kelbly's will be releasing more info. when they get it. I'm sure they're very dedicated to their customers....so, I would expect more pictures and info...soon.

I wrote Kelbly's for the price quote. If you write them...they'll give the current pricing. The 10-60x was just north of $2K...I think @ $2100 and the tactical was quoted as another $200 on top of the $2100.

That's getting to be some serious coin...so for me....I'm saving and will see what kind of budget I have in the spring.

Good Luck,

Wayne

$2300.00, you what thats not bad at all, considering a S&B is over $3500.00 now.

It would be nice if someone would loan me the $2300.00 and I would get one and try it out, and let yall know how it performs. Any takers?

If it's a first focal plane reticle, then the six-fold variation in magnification,10x to 60x range) will make it impossible to have a "very useful" reticle at both 10x and 60x. If it's thin enough at 60x to avoid concealing small target details, then it will virtually disappear at 10x. If it's thick enough to be seen in reasonable lighting at 10x, then many will find it too thick at 60x. That's why S&B has both the P4 and P4F reticles.

If it's a second focal plane reticle, then the reticle subtension would be less of a compromise at high and low magnifications, but you could range "properly" at only a few magnifications. However, I'm wondering how many potential buyers need a ranging reticle in such a scope?

I jsut received a price sheet form Kelbly's for the March 10-60X and its little brother, the 5-32. Your price of $2,300 for the Tactical reticle is low. Below is a copy of the email that I just received from Kelbly's.

"10x – 60x – 52mm and 5x-32x-52mm
2400.00 plus shipping
Tactical reticle add 200.00

40x, 50x, and 60x
2100.00 plus shipping

March scopes are currently on a month plus backorder, we have a list for backorders and if you would like to be placed on it we can add you to it. A $200.00 deposit is required to be placed on backorder list. Any questions email them to hobie@kelbly.com"

The tactical reticle has 10 equal-spaced dashes on the top, bottom, left and right of a cross hair. The matrix is centered in the visual field of the scope. The 5th dash,1/2 way) is longer then the other dashes. At 20X, the dashes are 2MOA apart; at 40X, the dashes are 1 MOA apart. IF I can post a pic of it later I will do so. It looks a lot like the TMR for Nightforc and the PCMOA from USO, except it only has the 10 dashes in each direction.

The 10-60X has 60 minutes of elevation and 40 minutes total windage. Pretty amazing for a scope with that magnification.

So, it's a second focal plane reticle - makes more sense. I wonder what the reticle subtension is at 60x? Apparently, no information about any turret changes.
