Mike. The LR stands for Lou's Reticle because Murdica was the one who suggested to March that they should make a raised retice.I think March called it the LR reticle but I don't know what LR stands for. I suspect it is not long range. That said, they allow for a wider FOV below the crosshairs, which allows you to more easily see the flags in the bottom of the scope. I think it's the absolute best reticle ever for short range and I can see why it'd be good for any range if it has enough travel.
I don't think I ever heard that but it figures that you would know. Lol! Thanks Jim! I think it makes total sense, fwiw. BR is such a small market I suppose but personally, I think it could be the only reticle for sr br and I'd be happy with that.Mike. Hell I have so many March scopes that I ought to own stock in the company Mike. No I deal with 2 people in Japan, Mari Morita and Tatsuya Gomi when I have questions or issues with any of the scopes that I own. Miss Morita is the one who told me what the LR stood for.I don't think I ever heard that but it figures that you would know. Lol! Thanks Jim! I think it makes total sense, fwiw. Thanks for all the replies.Guys, I have a March 36-55 EPZ with the LR2 reticle. The LR2 has a standard fine cross wire with dot and the higher fine cross wire with dot. I asked Deon for the offset between the center dot and the upper dot in minutes of angle. The reply from Tatsuya Gomi: "It's 9.5 MOA between the center dot and the upper dot on 50x. The offset angle is not constant as zoom changes." and yes if zeroed using the upper dot on the POA, the increased field of view does allow seeing more flags in SBR matches.
Nice looking unit there, did you make it?Something like this?

Seriously, I'm not sure I follow the logic in the 10 MOA thing. I would have thought you gained 10MOA of elevation. But it's been a very long day. and I'm happy to be corrected.
