March MTR-D2 Scope from Optics Planet

I'm considering buying the March MTR-D2 scope from Optics Planet. Their price is the same as other distributers, but they offer OP Bucks. This seems to be great since it gives $376 to spend on their other products. What I'd like to know is there any downside to this offer? The agent said it is a dollar for dollar deal; sounds too good.

I don't know about the 'deal'.
But, there's at least one thread here that captures the problems people have had with Optics Planet.

While many purchases go as expected, there's a fair number of cases where the product doesn't get shipped or is claimed to be shipped, but never shows up. Their handling of refunds in these cases seems to be usually awful. Several people reported having to file a dispute with their cc company.

I have very little experience with Optics Planet; I don't remember the last time I bought from them.

However, the March model number to which you are referring, MTR-D2, is in fact a second focal plane reticle.

So my question is which model scope are you considering? If it's a D number, it would be something DxxVyy#### where the xx is the maximum magnification, the V is for Variable (so there can be an F or EV) and yy is the objective lens diameter. The #### can be any number of special features.

The models are also known by the magnification X objective lens diameter: For instance, the riflescope on my F-TR rifle is a March-X 10-60X56 HM (the Shimmer Killer); where 10-60 is the magnification range and 56 is the objective lens diameter.

I purchased my March from Optics Planet and I had no problems. they were upfront that it would take a few weeks to get and it arrived within the expected time frame. I also asked for their best price and let them know I was shopping around. I ended up saving nearly $500 from the distributor. If you aren't in a hurry it's a great way to go.

I like the reticle on the D model better than the others. Going to the distributer is a good idea, I'll look into it.
Thanks
