March 10-60x52 vs 10-60x56

Does anyone have any experience comparing these two scopes. Other than the significant weight difference is there a notable improvement by going to the 56mm objective? Also has the 52mm objective version been discontinued? I don't see it listed on the March website but do see it on some dealers inventories?

The March 10-60X52 model is an older design that is still being sold. It is listed at the Marchscope website. The 52mm model uses ED glass. The 56mm design is a different animal with a 34mm tube with 4mm thick walls and it is the ONLY variable SFP riflescope on the planet with Super ED glass; the two lenses making up the objective doublet are the advanced temperature anti-drift Super ED glass. This is very close to pure fluorite crystal glass.

I had a March 10-60x52 and replaced it with the March 10-60x56 High Master. To my eyes the 10-60x56 is brighter and more clear especially at the higher end. Quite a jump in money but I don't regret it.

By virtue of its larger objective lens, the 10-60X56 HM will be brighter than the 52mm objective model. Also, a larger objective also allows for greater resolution. The difference is not great, but it accumulates. But the big jump is from ED glass in the 10-60X52 to Super ED glass in the 10-60X56 HM. Put all these things together and the 56mm is a fair jump in IQ from the 52mm, and as stated, especially at the higher magnifications. Given that I use 50X all the time on my F-TR match rifle, I appreciate this superb IQ.

Fair warning, there is an increase in cost as well as weight; the 56mm is 7 ounces more than the 52mm model.
