All got in their licks and hope to take a crack at the Florida Championship on February 22nd and 23rd.

Gunsmith Eric Bostrom gave out the awards and told me the mirage and winds made for very challenging conditions. Not able to be there, I sure know Manatee takes your best to do good. Well, come on this way and take your "shot" at beating these guys and the many others who can show they belong at the top.

IBS 600 is both fun, rewarding and challenging for all who participate. Next month is your turn. See you there just East of Bradenton, Florida off Highway 64. Contact Steve Krauss ( BT1) on this forum for more information.[/url]

Equipment list???
Just wanted to see what he was using...
Gabe, I could call him for you as Steve BT1, has not gotten that information organized for the IBS yet.

In December Alex used a 6bra with a Borden action, Krieger barrel, Wheeler/ McMillan stock, NF BR 12-42X, H4895, Barts Hammers and Alex Wheeler is his gunsmith. He won that shoot also.

That equipment list for Alex is as stated by CaptainMal. Nice rig. Classic case of do what many of the best are now shooting. Do not try to reinvent the wheel. Helps to have a great guy behind the great rig:)

Most all are shooting the 6BR varieties. BR, BRA, Dasher with either 103 or 105 gn bullets.

Steve

Alex is right.

To put four targets together and agg. under 2" is extremely rare at Manatee. That wold be especially true when there are multiple relays and delays for conditions to change. I had a call during the match to tell me the mirage made just seeing the aiming point of the target very hard to do. Good thing is it is like that for all shooters.

Sure you can do better. I believe that. Come and show us how it is done.

Nice shooting Mike Lowitz one of our new shooters in the PA Club! And I see Charlie Brown my old buddy done well. Congratulations guys.

Joe,

Did you notice that Charlie Brown was wearing "Charlie Brown? Look at his sweatshirt.

Before one of our shoots I used my iPad and played over the PA system the Coasters' song, "Charlie Brown". He's not a clown but sure is entertaining to be around. He also has a long history of competition with quite a bit of success. Only guy I know that competed with a barrel he made out of a piece of pipe. Darn thing shot well. He probably still has that 50#+ heavy gun that he bought from a winner at Williamsport. He used to bring that to the club but guessing it now takes more ars to move around than is reasonable for Charlie today.

Charlie has a history of success and it is still being made. Hope he signs up for the shoot in February.

Match report WITH ;) equipment list, is up on the IBS site. Biggest issue I think was the mirage on some relays. Looked at the target spread thru a NF comp at 15X and 55X. Wow, no possible way to shoot at the higher magnifications. Steve

That 50# Heavy gun Charlie bought from me, an I heard he was complaining he could only get it to shoot 4" ten shot groups at a 1000 yards LOL

This one? At least now I learned who to blame for losing so often to him.

Here is Charlie Brown shooting on the 1,000 yard range a couple years ago. He can't hide from my photo collection. Yes - he destroyed us on the targets at times. Not all the time but he really did shoot super with this rifle. Have not seen it lately. If he shows up with big, strong attendants I will figure he is bringing it to the line.

It looks like Charlie done a little modification from when I had it! And that doesn't look like a Bat Action. So maybe he wasn't happy with it.

That sure is a Savage action. If I an ever get over this flue ( second week now) I hope to get back to the range, run into Charlie and try to get answers. Inquiring minds want to know.

When I slod it to him it was a 300 WSM with a Bat L Action No telling what happened. But I'm telling you it shot.
