Man Fights Coyote off with coffee cup!

Yea, that pretty crazy!! I live in Pittsburgh now but still own a home about 20 miles from there. I heard the coyotes were getting pretty bad since I’ve been gone. There was an article in the Orlando Sentinel a year a so back about people losing pets in the city. If I ever make it back down that way, I want to do some backyard calling with night vision and PCP air rifle.
Sounds like the thing had rabies...normally ya just can't get close to them...they are a smart critter.
It would be cool to hit em with a PCP...better make sure ya hit em in the vitals as some of them are
very tuff to take down on occasion.

“That being said, Pool does not face any legal issues from state wildlife officers for the action he took to kill the coyote.” So does this mean wildlife officers would have charged the man if he had shot the yote ? There’s the problem ! Around here they take pictures and post on Facebook when a big one is shot.

I’m pretty sure the wildlife folks wouldn’t have bothered the guy for using a gun. The local police might have depending on the laws where the incident happened.

Aren't they the most prolific purveyors of fake new on the planet? (I don't own a TV so just asking from what I've read). Dog goes to vet 'cause he got tore up but owner smacked Coyote several times with a coffee cup and never got bit? Riiiight.

In my occasional anthropomorphic (attributing human characteristics to animals) mind sets, I see coyotes as politicians successfully running for office. I would dread any consequences for my past actions against the coyotes. What I should see and limit my thoughts to is - the coyotes are super survivors able to exist and do well in all sorts of places, deserts, mountains, towns, cities, and only feet away from ritzy restaurants and bars having great eats in back side garbage cans. I once saw a well fed, young yote in deep shade near a privet hedge, at night, just feet away from the doorman in a ritzy Cape Cod Inn - the doorman did not have a clue about the yote's presence. I once saw, at a great distance using binocs, a pack of them take down a mule deer near the tree line in Montana. I saw a huge dead yote while fishing on a Cape Cod beach, I thought the dead beast had to be some record size but was told about 60 plus pound yotes in Washington. A young woman was killed by a pack of yotes in a Nova Scotia Canada park - she sought refuge in a rest room but the door was locked for the season.
Should I worry about the yotes and rodents replacing humans as a dominant species on this planet.

When fishing in Olde Cape Cod, I always tote along a big can of bear spray - firearms are not needed for catching striped bass in Massachusetts.
