Making Memories

With everyone telling me that youth deer tags are "guaranteed" I'm still not holding my breath for anything with that label from the Game And Fish, regardless practice was the name of the game today and just some time with dad. My son who's eligible for his first youth early season doe tag.

I was just about ready to head out early this morning but needed to load some 110 barnes for my RARR Blk that he'll be using this fall. He handled it great and while a group shooter he is not (yet) he did have a blast switching from paper to Water filled milk jugs all the while working on and learning safe gun handling techniques.

Only loaded 20 of those and the rest of the morning was spent plinking with his .22 and my .17 hmr wich is rapidly becoming his.

The recoil of the Blackout had him a bit nervous but he couldn't wipe the smile off his face after the first shot. All in all a great day and he can't wait for this fall. Make's a guy proud to say the least.

I did get him a bit peeved when I popped one of the cans he was after with his rascal. Walked in on it on the 4th shot at a lasered 79 yards. I was grinning ear to ear but he wasn't to happy. In my defense he got to shoot all the other ones.20230616_090555_resize_20.jpgSnapchat-768155474_resize_53.jpg20230616_085535_resize_73.jpg

Some of the fondest memories I have is hunting with my father and uncles, WWII era vets. It's a heritage I hope we never loose in America.

These are priceless memories, and your son will cherish them for a lifetime, at least I do now in my mid 70's. In addition, the bonding experience will strengthen your relationship with him.
