Youth rifle stock question

While a few of us were participating in the usual shooting range philosophy's of the day a fellow shooter who of necessity uses a rifle equipped with a "Youth Stock". He said it reduces felt recoil greatly. I did not dispute his comment but must admit that that is a new one on me. He said that the youth stocks have a vain removed and full size stocks have them.
Anyone concur with this youth stock characteristic ?
Thanks !

I have no idea what a "vain" is. But speaking as an adult with T-rex arms, the recoil is much more punishing with a full length stock.

I apologize for not being more specific, The comment was in regards to a synthetic factory type stock and I believe a vain is a support panel that would run front to back from the butt to pistol grip section.

I find the statement difficult,

the recoil takes place -the pistol grip to butt angle is greater on the shorter stock, thus the foot pounds of energy being the same is transferred at a greater angle to the shoulder region.

to me that means more felt recoil.
