Making an inline seater

When reaming a blank for an inline seater, how much deeper do you run the chamber reamer? I'm guessing make the go gauge run .005"-.010" past flush?

I just finished one for a 6.5x47 Lapua AI, and made it so the gauge was flush with the bottom of the die.
I do all mine like that, just like the chambers, and they make for a nice fit....

Preacher..Have you ever made a seater that worked off the ogive shoulder?
That would be in the seater stem, not the die itself.
I buy my stems from Wilson...

I took a .243 barrel dialed it in ran a reamer in it for a 6br. I then cut the barrel off at die length flipped it around and used a file to hone out the other end of the bore .Then I took a regular stainless bolt drilled a hole in the center and tapered the inside of the hole. After that I ran a file across the shank of the bolt and hand fitted it to the bore of the die worked very well but a PIA to make but I was bored and my new lathe needed something to do. Cheers !

Joe Kubon designed an inline seater that We each built and used. I won't do into details, but we used our chambering reamer to cut the seater. We machined a floating stem that would work off the ogive. We then used a Mitutoyo .250 micrometer stem to be able to set our seating depth accurately.
As you can see the reamer will fit your brass perfectly though a little snug. When I say floating stem I mean floating up and down only. The stem is fitted on the OD to a reamed hole. It will only go straight and ain't cocked sideways. To make sure that your stem fits the ogive, you need to first bore a hole larger that the diameter of your hollow point. Next you need a micro solid carbide boring bar to cut the Stem to fit the ogive.
