I was wondering if it was feesable to make a single port action into a dual ports action.
I have seen a couple of actions that seemed to have had the left load port added after the fact.

Thanks
Matt

Just remember- we always called those a throw thru for a reason and the empties will only go out the side they go out currently unless they fall from the bolt face when the bolt is open. You also lose lots of resale value due to the thoughts of rigidity in most minds

I have done it to a couple of Savage PTA actions. Actually Fred with SSS can do it.

Thanks for the info guys.

Dusty. Why were they called throw thru. Was it because you guys would toss the new round out the other side lol

If the conversion to dual port is professionally done, I doubt if you would hurt the value of the action. Savage dual port actions are hard to find. I have several on varmint rifle builds and can't tell the difference in accuracy between them and single port actions. They are very fast loading when the PD shooting is hot. And, you're not stuck with your original ejection side -- just change the bolt head out.
