Maker Rex vs Barnes TSX

I have used Barnes TAC-TX bullets and know how effective they are in 300BO on pigs. I need to load some 223 Rem. for hunting, both AR15 and bolt gun. I am trying to decide between Barnes TSX and Maker T-Rex bullets, both are solid core 62gr. bullets. Similar pricing on both, and under today's shortage equal availability.

Does anyone have any experience using the Maker Rex or T-Rex (tipped) bullets?

How is accuracy?

I PUT SOME FINE MEAT ON THE TABLE WITH THE BARNES TTSX IN 223 CANT SPEAK FOR THE T-REX BULLETS

Agree. Barnes TTSX line of bullets is the gold standard for hunting. I've also played with Lehigh Defense in different caliber, and equally nice. I thought I would give some consideration to other contenders before going all in. Maker T-Rex is offered in some interesting weights for .223 Rem: 50gr, 55gr, 62gr, 65gr, 70gr, and 77gr.

I wasn't sure if there was any notable distinction in performance between Maker's different bullet weights. I just remember a while back when Barnes introduced a heavy version of .224 TTSX (like 75gr-77gr), and it had issues with longer ogee making the nose too fragile and it would collapse inward instead of expanding. (Edit: For the record, Barnes sorted this out once they realized the issue.)

I'd like to get some insight at the front end, and avoid finding out the hard way in the field.

A proper company would have tested the viability of the bullet design before releasing it to the public and letting us discover the failure while in the field.:mad:

Another suggestion is Hammer Hunter bullets. Excellent reviews across the board for accuracy and performance.

You are saying Barnes isn't a proper company ? Bullets and ammunition ? Do you hunt or shoot their product ?
