Major problems w/new web site

Stripe is the company that handles my card processing. As it turn out
this happens to be an anti-gun PC organization that has said I have
until the 17th to remove my page from them. Lots of
customers are getting ERROR 404 when doing a search for "GREAT SCOTT"
In a search for Geissele and Trigger Teck nothing is showing up.
My web page is going to revert back to my old site until my web tech can sort
this out. I'll never make millions at this rate. LDS

That sucks. There’s enough hurdles running your own business that you certainly don’t need another.

I didn’t realize Stripe was anti 2a. I always assumed they were ok with 2a stuff because they’re the only processor for PRACTISCORE. Maybe that’ll be changing if Stripe is kicking out 2a stuff??

Are we starting to miss the greedy bankers that would take your money anyway they could get it?
Don’t fret, Larry! If the website doesn’t work, I’ll call you.;)
Sorry you’re having trouble.

Almost every decent payment processor has boilerplate language forbidding “weapons and munitions”. That includes stripe, whose founders are actually fairly conservative (or at least moderate - not the shrill liberals that are so common in Silicon Valley). It also includes PayPal, who’s founder is famously libertarian. And Amazon. And... all of them.

Unfortunately, the only way around these seemingly ubiquitous terms is to use a merchant services company that allows “high risk” businesses. It’s an enormous pain because they’re all a decade behind the times in terms of technology and customer service. (I’m dealing with this as we speak in my online store - it’s not easy).

This is also a problem for e-commerce platforms. Shoppify is a no go, which is a shame. WordPress shopping carts are fine - they’re open source but not exactly sophisticated. BigCommerce is good to go. It’s what I use.

Best of luck navigating this painful aspect of the shooting industry.

Gee Larry........ hmmm. A Trigger Tech dealer. Imagine that.
I had one choice, either join them or quit, and that
was what I had originally planned to do. If this web site doesnt
come around I have made a mistake by staying. LDS

What should work is using BigCommerce to run your website and store, WorldPay as your merchant services provider and authorize.net as a payment gateway. All three are firearms friendly. It’s a major pain to get Worldpay set up. (It’s not like stripe where you’re up and running in 5 minutes). Authorize.net is relatively painless, as is BigCommerce.

why hasn't NRA or similar established a bank/credit card/financial engine provider that is pro 2A?

What provider does Brownells, Midway, etc use for credit card processing? Possibly the same one that is rejecting Larry since liberals have a conscience only up to a set $ amount.

There are more than a few that have no issues with guns. They’re just not as good as the more modern ones that do. Getting to that level of technology/sophistication requires resources greater than those companies have access too. It’s just not practical to recreate Stripe or Amazon payments or Apple Pay.

Larry if it's a problem, then I'll call for my next order. Hopefully this will take care of the problem

Larry, I used Authorize.net to run my credit card transactions for my gun/cerakote shop. They were pretty easy to setup and use and if you have a person doing your website they will know how to get SSL certs and other security measures up to compliance for you. (If they don’t know how, run from them and find a webmaster who does)

Everything was good to go until my web master got a cut off notice from STRIPE(ant-gun). I'm using Authorize.net and my SSL is current. He just has to replace STRIPE,
w/another co. What a CF.

Jerry you are absolutely correct. Bass Pro shop is a gun dealer,
but is financed by anti gun banks. Since I own an FFL I cant get a BPS credit card. Its all about big money VS my chump change. LDS

Larry,

If you want, give me a call. I dealt with this well over a year ago, but what I was using was both economical and functional with no back charges based on 2A nonsense. I am available anytime - 303.802.7008
