Magtech primers

I assume they are not lead free, so maybe that's why the new primer company in Illinois is starting up. Sounds like a lot of new primers on the market. I'm not a fan of Magtech either. Not as constant for me.

Another board has a thread on a recent batch of large rifle primers that are bad. This is the first instance of a problem with Magtech I've heard of.

3 of us bought 5000 SR each some months ago. My one buddy I helped him load about 500 or so. At the range they group the different weight bullets well. 53-80 gr. bullets.

When I read Laurie's Article ( Book ) on Primers , I was minorly surprised to find Mag-Tech SRP's listed fairly high on his list . He tested them to be consistent and a quality primer over-all . Maybe some of their other primers don't live up to those standards , and they have improved their process for the SRP Line at this point .
You beat me to it. I read Laurie's article and I've used the small Magtechs and they worked very well for me.
