magnetospeed V3 or Sporter

I had a V3 and traded it. It was a very nice piece of equipment. I just needed a Warner sight more. Recently bought the Sporter. Real difference is the control box. The Sporter has a single button scroll through interface. The XFR cable allows you to tether the control box to your cell phone and using the free app you can adjust settings and download data. For the price difference the Sporter is the way to go. If you have a Graf's dealer acct you can save a significant amount more (when in stock). Just need to remember your pad of paper and a pen to write things down unless you want to unplug, tether and sync every string. The Sporter can only store a single string at a time.

Go with the Sporter and the XFR dod-dad and cell phone app. There are 3 levels of sensitivity on the Sporter; the highest one should probably work on those bigger barrels using the thinnest of the two spacers.

I had my sporter on a 1.25 barrel with no problems. I like it better than the V3, b/c it's simpler.

I have one of the original Magnetospeed units. I also shoot fat barreled guns for long range bench rest. I took the soft rubber pads off the bayo and it works just fine. I never had to adjust the sensitivity or anything.
