Magnetospeed Sporter on a 1-1/4" bbl?

Anyone able to use the Sporter on a 1.25" straight contour bbl. ? Why on earth would they limit the bbl. size? The other bayonet works, why wouldn't the Sporter? Seems random.

Its about the spacing, to work best it should be within a given distance from the bore line/bullet path. You might have luck with it as Gabe says he does, you might get errant readings and you might not. For the sporter its geared towards sporter sized barrels. The v3 is much more adjustable.

Have you tried calling MagnetoSpeed Customer Service with your question. I have always found them very helpful and easy to contact. Their number is 512-284-8161. I have used a V2 MagnetoSpeed for several years with no problems.

I have three 1.25" barrels that I have tried to get it to work on and it doesn't. Like others have said I believe the spacing is too large to work properly. I have even tried taking the spacers out to decrease distance and still can't get a reading.

I presume adjusting the sensitivity had no effect?
