Magnetospeed problem?

I attached my magnetospeed sporter to my No.4 Enfield target rifle and I keep getting erroneous readings. I have used the most scientific methods for attaching the unit to my very accurate Enfield rifle. I was wondering if the more knowledgeable shooter/reloaders like Boyd Allen or CatShooter could give some advice.

Test subject "Heavy barrel" shows fantastic response to visual stimulation.

And he also knows ""If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

That is a dull, close combat Smelly MK-5 (Jungle Carbine) bayonette. The mount is somewhat unorthodox though ;) ;) ;)

And there is nothing unorthodox about Enfield rifles and bayonets, even when you loose a postal match to the Australians and use a Koala Bear target. ;)

Pres100 has it right. The 1/4" square bar that comes with the Magnetospeed sets the spacing from the top of the bayonet to the bottom of the rifles' bore.

After ringing bell test subjects were stimulated with visual image with duct tape and string on Magnetospeed. ::)

Suggested additional reading below for above three posters, the first five posters have grasp of posting and gave great answers. ;)

I can't interpret that. Does that mean you tried putting the sensor closer to the bullet path and it didn't work?

I believe they are right. Electrical and magnetic fields fall off as the square of the distance. That means every time you cut the distance from the sensor to the bullet path in half, you quadruple the pickup strength. Seems to me it would work best when the bullet is almost grazing the sensor.

Other than that, check for intermittent connections on wires, battery clips, etc.

Anyone else noticed catshooter seemed to disappear right after biged proved him wrong on the primer disk issue? He's even more sensitive than I am. Hell, if you don't stick your foot in your mouth once in a while, you better check your pulse.

The first five people who posted understood I was joking, and we have four people who are so serious they do not understand the duct tape and string on the magnetospeed is meant as humor.

I consider CatShooter a friend and this posting is using "humor" to get CatShooter to come back to this forum. And as I was typing this my PM message board lit up with a red light with a PM from CatShooter.

You could not be more wrong, shithead. Stop kissing your image in the bathroom mirror, and grow up.

Ed and I are good friends and PM on mostdays.

Hmmmm. Your approach didn't seem to work and mine didn't either, but at least he PM'd me! That's a start. Next thing you know, he'll be posting just like the old days.....

Of course, some would not see the sarcasm in agreeing to the nth scientific degree with the serious responders to such an obvious ploy. But you are 100% right about the Pavlovian bait. It worked on you in the primer debacle and it worked on Cat here. His response was immediate, just not public. Came damn close to pulling him out!

LRGoodger,
To the best of my recollection, it was you who put the chingaso to CatShooter and bigedp51 with the facts about primer discs and I did perceive and appreciate, right after that, a net increase in humility about the site. I also even appreciated that bigedp51 conceded that you were correct which meant he and the Gato Blaster were not. As rank as he can be, he earned a little respect that day. Don't know what happened to Gato, hope he didn't have a stroke over it.

I was hoping you would jump in a couple days ago and help biged out regarding some misinformation that was posted about Redding competition shell holders. Ed had it right but he couldn’t hammer hard enough to get the poster to admit it.

Forgot to mention; I did hear a rumor that some guy was breaking into warehouses and gun stores all over the country taking the little discs out of primers so he could be right.

Bigedp51,

Try some Gorilla Glue and plenty of it.

LR,

I used a dry chem fire extinguisher once to run a cat out of a culvert pipe, where my dogs could get to it.

No Hablo Ingles, Una cerveza por favor.

And I'm waiting for feedback from Boyd Allen on this posting, after all this is Accurate Shooter website. ;)
