magazine length measurement please

Hi
Can people that have small action rifles in any calibre based on any of the 222/223 cartridge family please measure your magazine lengths for me???
I am building a 6x45 Remington hunting/spotlighting rifle and don't have an action yet.
With 6mm projectiles being longer than .224 ones I don't want to handycap myself with an action that has a short magazine length.

Can you please specify make, model, cartridge and length.

Thanks heaps.

I believe SAAMI maximum overall length for a .223 is 2.260". Typically, you load to 2.250" - 2.255" for reliability. Anything longer, and you're either running a single shot, or using a .22-250 length,or longer) magazine box.

In AR-15 type rifles, I typically load to stay under 2.255" for magazine length rounds.

Did you say "hunting/Spotlighting" like in "Deer" hunting?

Ogre is an Aussie.

Spotlighting for Rabbits, Hares and Foxes is legal there. It's also the preferred and only real practical way way to cull Kangaroos, provided you have the appropriate permit.

No, he's not talking about Deer, they cannot be taken at night.

Yep and it's also a heap of fun. Any land owner over a certain size can apply for a culling permit for roos. Commercial harvesting is almost exclusively done at night for health reason- meat spoilage.

Taking deer with the help of and "electric dog" is a HUGE no no. If the authorities catch you.- they can and usually do seize the lot- car, guns, etc etc.
I have know of other hunters giving another hunter who poaches with the ED a floggingto try and convince him of the error of his ways.

HI
Nothing to apologise for- have a nice day.

Did you guys in CONUS ever get the Tikka M55 series of guns??
They are about 10 plus years ago.
I'm looking for a 5 shot mag for a 223 sized case.
