I currently use a BAT 3 Lug action and a Quassa action,SA action based on the Stolle Panda)for LR BR and F Class. As a professional hunter I do a lot of hunting, mostly with Big bore rifles build on Mauser actions.
1. I want a very, very accurate magazine action for hunting,small game such as springbuck out to 500m) on which to build a switch barrel 284 Win and a 6x47 Lapua.
2. The action must double for an equally accurate LR BR and F Class action from time to time.
3. I have done a lot of the reading on this forum regard the BAT Repeater, Stolle Kodiak, Stiller's Tactical and the Sturgeon actions as possible candidates.
4.Does the magazine actions have the same tolerances as a benchrest action or would you rather suggest another BAT 3 Lug or other benchrest action,Stolle, Stiller, Nesika, etc) for my intended purpose?
5. I would like the new action to have the same thread and headspace as my BAT 3 Lug action, so as to move old barrels from the BAT 3 Lug action to the new action. Does this requirement make the BAT Repeater the ideal choice?
I am a bit isolated in these dark parts of Africa, and, although I do a lot of reading, I am unable to practically evaluate the different actions. I will therefore really appreciate some advice on the above.
