Mag vs non mag primers in big cartridges

Well guys against conventional wisdom I tried something a bit different in some big cartridges and the results were pretty amazing. I recently did some loading for my 338 lapua and 338 norma magnums and didn't have any mag primes so I went with the 210m and got amazing results accuracy. I then got in my 215s and did the same tests. With identical weight charges group sizes were half as big with the non mag primers and the chagre weight and groups fluctuated accordingly ie 92gn for example was the best with both primers relative to the other groups but the non mag 92gn group was half the size. My 2 cents but this has happened to me on a few other guns like my 30 hart. Has anyone else experienced this same phenomenon? I have never experiences a non mag not make even a large charge go bang but perhaps others have. For a target rifle it's perhaps different than for hunting where temp could be adverse to ignition. If you haven't tried it please do and let me know what happens next step will be to run it over a chronology to see the differences in es and sd to see if that is also improved relative to the mag primers stats.
Thoughts?

Funny, I get my best results in my 300 win mag with 210m primers and fed 215 in my 6.5-284.
I use 215M in both my .300wm and my 6.5 and 6*284's, I think every gun has different needs.

Gentlemen,
Check German Salazar's primer tests for the .308 Win. Looks like the same sort of situation is going on here. Just a thought.

I had tried both primers outta my 25 WSM but I didn't have any luck. The regular primers just gave me a hang fire but the 215 feds gave me great accuracy. I deffinatly think its all on what your gun likes. My buddy has a 7 rem mag that shoots lights out with the regular primers.

When I needed to load up some 7mm Rem Mag loads about 2 years ago I didnt have any magnum primers so I had to use regular primers. Not a problem what so ever and the loads shot to my specifications for a hunting rifle. Under an 1" at 100 with a wood stock and sporter barrel I was happy.

when i shoot stick powder i got just as good or better with reg. primers...
with ball powder there is no comparison.... mag primers win hands down......

To me the primers, whether they are mag or not, are a way to tune for accuracy. One never knows whatr will give the best. Like HillbillySniper says, it's up to the rifle.
