In preparation for an upcoming 6.5 Grendel build, I decided to re-hone my skills a little. I use to thread/chamber about 15-20 barrels/year, it's been a couple years since I chambered up a barrel. I have never done an AR barrel, and I decided to test out my lathe after a full restoration on the machine.
I had an old Rem 8 twist .223 700 barrel that had a bad throat, I chucked it up to see if I still had it! Everything turned out great and I think I'm good to go on the Grendel project. I'll see if this barrel can shoot at all and maybe use it for plinking or closer range varmints. I still need to machine the gas block and port, but that's the easy part IMO.
