Pardon my lack of knowledge, but is there something specific to these swivel sets for the cost? We did not have sniper rifles like the M40 the three tours I did in RVN.

With the popularity of class b rifles in vintage sniper competitions many are building M40 clones. Some of the parts to recreate the M40 rifle are no longer available or difficult to find These sets are custom made small batch reproductions. When making parts like this the low production number, multiple set ups and fixtures and the time involved to produce drive the unit cost. One could use a different swivel set but it wouldn’t be period correct, some just want the rifles to appear as close to original as possible

I can understand that. Set up time is a major expense for small run parts.
