Did the 40x stock have a cheek piece. Have you had personal experience with the M40 repro stock? I have a SSA commerative rifle that someone put a M40-66 stock on and thinking a M40 repro stock would hold its value better. I have to think the 66 stock is more user friendly. You can also get a 40x stock and inlet the bottom metal. Thats what 99% of the wood stocked 66’s were
They used 40x stocks due to not having the 66 stocks. The armorers got them and inletted the bottom metal as fast as they could. There were more 40x stocked ones in use than the 66 by far. There were more bdl stocks than both though. Wartime you never know what youll see as fast as they threw them out there before the a1 could get finalized. I know an armorer that did the inletting and a few end users is where i get my info. And have had more than a few of each one in my hands that came from thereDid the 40x stock his cheek piece. I’m referring to the M40-66 company that builds clone M40’s. They put a rubber butt pad and sling studs instead of a metal butt and sling swivels. They used 40x stocks due to not having the 66 stocks. I wouldnt think a clone would have any collector value actually. I have never had anybody looking for a 66 but i build at least a couple a1 copies every yearI’m referring to the M40-66 company that builds clone M40’s. What’s your opinion on it holding value with my existing M40-66 stock?
It’s a Remington M40 SSA commerative rifle built by Remington on a 40X clip slotted action so it’s not a shop made clone. There is or was one on GB for $2995.00I wouldnt think a clone would have any collector value actually. I have never had anybody looking for a 66 but i build at least a couple a1 copies every year

Ok so with it being factory what ya think the M40-66 company stock or the Gunville stock for collectibility?I was talking about shop made clones
Its not an original. Thats all you can say. Folks get em to be nostalgic but a clone built by a gunsmith will never be a collector item.Ok so with it being factory what ya think the M40-66 company stock or the Gunville stock for collectibility?
