M1A CQB and Scope issues

Several years ago I purchased a M1A CQB, I have a standard M1A and love the platform. Last year I decided to play around with adding a scope. I had a Nikon P-308 I wasn't using and purchased a Hi-lux M1A mount. Everything went together fine. Used my laser to bore sight at 25 yds. no problem. Start firing live rounds at the 100 yard and holy cow, the rounds were hitting 4 feet above the target, checked the mounts, everything was solid. I dialed the scope down halfway between my laser zero and the bottom out of the scope, still hitting high, bottomed the turret out and still hitting too high. The ammunition is Prvi-Partizan 147gn. FMJ, bought it a long time ago. Any suggestions on what might be happening? Are the rounds that hot coming out of the rifle, do you think something could be wrong with the rifle, it cycles and shoots fine. If I would have had my tools with me I would have taken the scope mount off and tried using the iron sights but I did not expect this so they were left home, any ideas. Thank you

Are any rounds hitting the interior of the flash hider? Copper marks at the exit? Is it loose?

I'm not familiar with Hi-lux mounts, do they have elevation adjustments?

48" high at 100 is probably more than the scope can compensate for.

Your first action should be seeing how it shoots with iron sights. If that's working fine, I suspect the Hi-lux scope mount is out of spec. I would consider buying a Ultimak scout style scope rail, it replaces your upper handguard, and using an EER (pistol) scope mounted forward of the receiver.

Thank you for the reply. I checked the flash hider and it is tight, checked for copper fouling in the FH and did not see any, not really sure what to make of it. I am going to remove the scope mount and give it a try with my iron sights and then go from there.
