M16 Extractor Tooling?

What exactly would I need to install M16 extractors on 700 style bolts?

Where can I get it?

And roughly how much would the tooling cost?

If you already have a mill, you likely have the right cutters and drill bits to do the work. If you don't have a mill, then the tooling will be expensive. Just find a smith that can do it for you. Point being, a milling machine is the only thing you need, and if you have that, the rest of the tooling is common.

I don't have a mill. My gunsmith does have a mill, but he told me that he does not have the tooling to do an M16 extractor. So if the tooling is common, what do I need?

I was planning on buying it and bringing it to him with the proposition that if he installs a couple extractors on my bolts, he can have the tooling. Kind of a nice surprise...

Richard King has a fixture to make it much easier and quicker to do in your mill.
But I'm not sure if it is available commercially.

You would need an end mill the width of the extractor itself (.250 for m16, .187 for mini), a .125 end mill to spot the hole for the extractor pin, a center drill and a drill. A for flute carbide end mill is best for cutting into a round surface. Obviously, your gonna need a mill and a small chuck. I have a few Albrecht chucks for this type of thing.

Your gunsmith doesn't have the tooling??? The bolt can be held in a collet block in the mill vise since the extractor pin hole has to be 90° from the extractor cut. There is nothing tricky about it.
