M1 Garand ?s

Hi I have a M1 Garand I am thinking of selling and need info and a value please. It's # 5437316 Springfield. CMP marked stock, muzzle -2 throat -2+ Grade G3-SA. The whole rifle is in VG condition, wood and metal. Maybe this will detract from the value. [no patina] I'm not trying to sell this on this site at present, so this is not a FS add.

Looks like a decent service grade, with a birch replacement stock. Take a look at the CMP website for current service grade pricing, and the CMP Forum to see current resale pricing is.

CMP is offering rebuilt ones now with newly made stocks criterion barrels and refinished metal.

Some years ago, CMP marked their birch replacement stocks with a"CMP" in a circle on the flat of the pistol grip, and their walnut replacements with a "DAS" of sorts with a "CMP" on them in the traditional location. Both stocks were made by Boyd's and thinned down by a vendor. (DuPage Trading).

No way you’ll get less than cmp pricing with their wait time, membership req and just general annoyance of ordering.

The CMP “requirements” have eased of late. There is no membership, and as long as you don’t have a problem with immediate gratification, shipping times have improved as well.
Gunbroker may yield him a higher return, and that’s his choice. A Data Sheet would be of great assistance to whomever bids on it, and to make an educated decision on the price point.
