M&P 22 compact pistol trigger

I am internet broswing for an M&P 22 compact. I have seen ads stating it is SAO and I notice it is hammerless. My question is it a true single action with a light crisp trigger, or a heavier striker fired trigger pull?

Decent triggers can be had with the M&P but not like a single action. The Springfield is definitely the superior trigger but it's not a 1911 either. And, with respects as a side, a 3" gun is not going to be accuracy limited by the trigger so much as to be a factor anyway.

does springfield make a 22?
I am not as concerned with accuracy right now as much as my grand daughter having an easy trigger pull. she tends to pull the whole gun sideways with a heavy trigger.

Truth... I was not considering the .22 part of your question. I have the M&P Pro in 9mm and had a trigger job done on it for IDPA playing. Find a USPSA or IDPA shooter and have them teach a proper two handed grip and most of the gun movement while pulling the trigger problems will go away. At least some people agree with your choice of the M&P...

I have talked to several people who liked their M&P's, I tried to shoot against them with a SIG Mosquito at some steel challenge matches. I can't believe SIG put their name on those pieces of junk. I have shot 5 different ones and none would go through a magazine without a failure. Hoping the S&W 22 is more reliable.
I have anM&P 2.0 9mm that I shoot 3 gun with. I am very happy with the trigger it came with. Not quite as good as the ghost trigger in my glock, but It isn't bad.
