Smith&Wesson M&P .22

[OIF/OEF]

I work with a young man that has an M&P 22. He slammed the stock in his truck door and cracked the stock and the tube. The upper may as well be brand new and the lower in perfectly usable just with a crack. He said he would sell it to me for 100.00 is that fair. It is fully functional and shoots great I figure worse case I have a spare upper for my other one....

Well, if that's an S&W 15-22 AR, all those models have an MSRP of over $500. If he's wanting $100, even with a crack in the stock, I'd want to know why is he selling it so cheap???? Might want to make sure it has serial numbers on it and that it isn't "hot." Just my thoughts.

I agree with Alex, proceed with caution especially if you don't know the co-worker too well.

Take the concern out and buy one new at CDNN Sports for only $349.50 !!

I work with him at the Sheriffs Department hes the type of person that knows nothing about weapons. He shoots and has a couple guns but is scared to sell it due to being sued or something by the buyer. Kindof a nerdy kid lol but a great Deputy. I know it isn't stolen hes just the extremely cautious and by the book type of person.

I was just checking to make sure I myself wasn't making a bad decision. The crack is purely cosmetic but it runs the full length of the stock tube and under the T handle so its a big crack.

So even with the damage explained it is worth 100.00? I was considering trading it for a barrel and didn't want to lose money on the deal.....

Ill try to post a pic it shoots perfect with some black tape you couldnt see it at all...i gave him the caah today...the bolt body spring still has blue paint on it...ill probably put that upper on my lower and sell it

Unless you have another M&P 15/22, that is all the uppers and lowers will fit.

I do have another one Sir, the crack doesn't bother me and if I can make a few dollars on it that was kinda my idea from the beginning or heck just have two of them. Heck they are great little rifles

Sounds like a fun project.
Modify and epoxy a receiver extension on there and enjoy.
