Lyman1200 Powder Measure Problem

Hi

I have just made a discovery with my Lyman 1200 automatic powder dispenser.

In loading 5 rounds, the amount measured changes by .4 grains. Not good. Thats .4 more than I want. Has anyone else used these.. and if they have what do you think? The problem appears that the scale can not keep a zero. When you put the pan on it, it goes back to zero. Not showing the .4 increase! So you load more powder tha you think!

I have turned the flouro lights off, they can alter a scale), have all doors closed, used it in different temperatures... everything! Still happens!

So, can anyone help??/

Thanks

HI

Ive had it for about 6 months, but only just now have started really using it a lot. This is why I only just noticed it!
Ive got to do something about it... it is dangerous at the moment... Had to pull 40 round and check them, and they were all up to buggery.

Once I found it, I was recalibrating it every 2 rounds, anymore than that and it had increased the load by up to .2 of a grain.

It is funny though, cause when the pan sits on the scales, it reads zero. But when checked it has increased the load!!

Will email Lyman to find out... even take it back to the place where I got it and swap it for another. Then test that one!

Thanks

It may have been my mobile phone that was causing me grief. Today I spent sometime testing the unit, and found that if I zeroed it after loading 5 rounds it went ok. No phone in the room.

I also, plugged it into another power point.. so it was by itself on the wall.

I need to do a lot of loading next week so I will see how it goes.

Generally, when I was measuring to 72.5 grains, it was either 72.5 or 72.6... instead of creeping up to 72.8 within 5 rounds.... and going up further after that.
