Lyman Micrometer Die Question

Have the below pictured die and I have never seen one before. Don't know what caliber? Printed on die is Lyman-M-S-2A. It is a seater die. Any info appreciated.

I have many dies that have the same thread count and diameter for the seating and sizing die; meaning I can use a sizing to seat bullets with case body support and that is something they do not understand or 'know' about.

The micro adjust in your die should be removed and examined. There is a big chance the micro adjust belong to another die.

Is the micrometer part stamped with Lyman ? It appears to be non plated , most are plated like your die body .
It's possible either homemade or from another die . Is the micrometer cal specific?

Here are pictures of die disassembled. Internal parts are also stamped Lyman.

I have a die exactly like this one. Mine is a seating die for a 300 Win mag. They are not cartridge specific and can be used on different cartridges. I ordered the 7mm bullet guide for mine and can also seat bullets for my 7mm/08 or 7mm Wea mag. They work good.
Purchased mine from Midsouth in the mid 80's.

Have you asked Lyman about it? I can't access their website from work, but they have downloadable instructions for most all of their equipment available on their website.

I'm not sure. You would have to contact Lyman. Mine came with the Lyman bench rest die set for a 300 Win mag.

Herter had a universal seating die, the reloader would purchases one die body and a box of seater plugs, The same die/set was available with the Weatherby name. The Universal die body had a window/cut-out in the side for dropping bullets into the bullet guide for alignment with the case neck.

May want to change your use of "reloading".... some folks handload meaning,they are starting from scratch. "RE" indicates it is a "RE" manufacture and isn't always the circumstances.
