Lyman Borescope

I would like to purchase a Lyman Borescope. Where to go to get the best deal on one?

Thanks,
Don Dunlap

Don, do a search for Lyman Borecam and you will get lots of returns. When I was wanting to buy mine, I asked 3 or 4 places to email me when they got it back in stock. I ended up buying from a small online shop in northern Idaho. I can look it up if you want the name.

Mid South had the best price when
I bought mine. Good piece of equipment.
It will verify your cleaning methods. LDS

I bought the Inovative Technologies bore scope and am very happy with it

Nothing personal and Im glad youre happy with your scope, but I had the Innovative Technologies borescope in my possession for about 15 minutes before I was boxing it up to send back for a full refund.

I have had the Lyman borescope for a while now . No comparison. The Lyman is a better video feed borescope in every way, especially clarity.

Hi Don

Just some hands on advice in the care and feeding of your Lyman Borecam. The mirror is a dust magnet. Don't try to use the "Q" tips that come with it to clean the mirror. They don't fit into the opening and they leave fibers on the side of the opening. Only makes problems worse. Get yourself a couple of compressed air, cans, the type used for cleaning computer keyboards.
Keep cleaning chemicals away from the mirror. Be sure your bore it totally dry before using the bore scope. They will damage the mirror. I use a good Sinciar bore guide to keep the bore scope centered from the chamber..
Been there, done that

Good call on the bore guide when using the scope. I'll have to try that. 20 cal to 6.5 cal its fine, but its a pain to use when I get into my bigger 338 and 358 bores. A 20 or 22 cal bore guide ought to make it just right.

I don't own one yet but I've heard that its not actually a mirror just some kind of foil that chemicals will damage:eek:

Maw, bless her heart, ordered one for me yesterday for my B-day(today),Amazon, $209 w/free being shipping from Optics Planet.

That was quick, the pony dropped off my cam 20 minutes ago. Now its time to see how bad my good shooting barrels are!:D

Well how was it Bill? I am itching for one but wish it could do the .172's. Maybe it would be able to see the throat area from the chamber. I wonder what the AK barrels look like.
