Lyman Borescope tips

Looking for tips on how you set up the borescope, such as do you have a small stand to rest the wand on while inserted into the barrel to steady the wand, what type of material did you use on the 'wand rest" to not scratch or mar the wand, etc.

i've used mine a couple times but I struggle with getting & keeping everything lined up and such.

I have a Lucas bore guide for my cleaning rod and find it makes using the Lyman a LOT better. Keeps it steady and somewhat centered in the bore.

Make sure you have removed all oil from the bore before inserting into the barrel. I ruined the mirror on my first as it absorbed oil and became see through
