It sure will never be as good as a Hawkeye clarity wise..
They do a nice job if you pay attention to the position in the bore...
The image on the screen is not as good as the actual photo on the SD card once it's on the computer...

How about for just being curious about your cleaning techniques, pitting, etc. Does that show up enough on the monitor to tell you anything?

Yes. Thats what its good for. Looking at carbon/copper and firecracking. I use a hawkeye every day but if i was just looking as a hobbyist the lyman is all you need. I was very impressed

The monitor is a live feed, and there is a capture button which will take stills.

From where on the probe does it capture the image? From the very end or from the side close to the end?
I thought it might be useful in bullet making to peer down into a seated core to check for lead bleed-bye or to see any punch scrape on the inside of the jacket.
Any thoughts?

It looks like a copy of a hawkeye on the end. A rotating 90deg mirror. May not see bleed but will see scraping. You need a very good microscope and magnifying glass to evaluate your core punch selection

I have had one for about 4 months now and the only downside is that I now have my old Mod 70 at the gunsmith for a new barrel-the $200 bucks for the borescope will morph into a grand once the new barrel, bedding the new stock (you cannot put a new Lilja in the 50 year old cheapo OEM stock, now can you) and true up the action.

Unfortunately, the borescope works too well

Gary

I got mine from Grafs and sons for $270 shipped and had less than 5 left when I ordered mine. I found out that damn Wal-mart has two in stock for $252 shipped!!! :o Ebay also has some I think

Don't know about stock, but Midsouth (An advertiser here too) gave me one for about 220.00 I think it was. They allowed back orders too.
