Lyman Accu Trimmer ????

Anyone have one of these? If so what are your thoughts on it.?

Are the worth it or not..Being on fixed income makes it tough
to get top Aone products...i ONLY load 2 calibers...John

I had one, it would cut crooked every time, not worth the steel it's made from.

RCBS make the Trim Pro, it's very good, it cuts to .001" case after case.
I also have the Redding Precision trimmer, the RCBS is cheaper and just as accurate.

Cheers.
;D

on average,at least 2000....been using those lee trimmers which are ok.But want to up grade to a bench model..Guess I will check out the Lyman...

After an endorsement like that, I'd have a hard time buying the Lyman.

junk..hard to adjust and would not cut evenly. don't waste your money.now use a Sinclair micrometer ..works as it's supposed to .

The newer Lyman accu-trimmer does a pretty good job compared to the original with the cast base & bronze bushing which wobbled and caused uneven case mouths. Accu-trimmer copies the Forster design & for me is hard to maintain constant cutting length. I started with the original Lyman w/ cast base then got a Forster. Now have a Wilson & wished I'd bought one in the first place. I mount my Wilson in a bench vice thus lowering the cost. I don't use the micrometer adjustment either. High precision..... reasonable cost.

You cant beat the Wilson as it is the most accurate trimmer ever made and it is so simple a caveman can do it.I would use any other.I have had them all. Now for volume I have 2 graceys set up for .223 and .308.It is amazing how fast you can do 500 cases.
