Lyman 55 conversion

A buddy has a Lyman 55 that has a conversion that he said Culver did a conversion on years ago. Instead of the weight adjustment that comes on it, it now has a micrometer style that uses clicks. Does anyone do this type of conversion anymore? My old 55 got shelved because it was such a PITA to set to the desired charge weight. I'd use it again if I could get it converted to an easier way to adjust.

No one has any idea? Was hoping someone might know of a conversion kit or someone who has done it.

My guess is when harrels started making an affordable click style culver the lack of demand for the converted lymans led to no one offering them anymore. @ttfreestyle has a used harrels for sale i think. Might be worth a pm if your interested in owning one

Thanks, but its been sold.

Homer's micrometer click style insert drums for the Lyman 55 powder measure ceased to be produced because Homer died, not because of a lack of demand. Harrels apparently recognized the slow but steady demand for such a device and stepped up with a fine substitute for those not fortunate enough go be around when Homer was still alive and able to produce his measure conversions. Based on my best memory of when he died, it would be about 30 years since he would have been physically able to produce them.
