Lucky Duck vs. Fox Pro

I have both, LD Super Revolt, and a X24 FoxPro, killed alot of coyotes with both. Hands down the Foxpro is way better quality, functions better and more reliably than the LD, also made in the USA. Both calls have great sound libraries available aswell. That being said, 9 times out of 10 im grabbing the Lucky Duck when jump out of the pickup. If it wasnt for the MFK sounds on the Foxpro I would probably never use it. Just my .02

I use an X24. I shot my first coyote ever earlier this year in Michigan using that caller. I think in general coyotes are overcalled with the same sounds in my neck of the woods.
@nakneker I would be interested to pick your brain for calling during mating season. Do you use females sounds or more aggressive male sounds when calling in that time of the year?
I just started using coyote vocals a couple years ago. We have started using them all calling season but the most effective time is mating season. During that time we mostly use coyote male howls, challenges. The females have an invite howl when looking for mates but we haven’t really tried that much but I want to play around with that some too. There’s all kinds of coyote hand calls, I use a double reed diaphragm call most of the time for howls but there’s lots of articles on the different calls and techniques out there.

had 2 different fox pro didn't care for either of them
went with a Minaska and then I got a Alpha Dog from Primos
could not read the screen on the fox pro without readers on so changing sounds
in the middle of a stand was a pain, getting out glasses making all the movement in the middle of a stand was defeating the purpose

I would look at the features and see what rings your chimes. I call with , Minaska, wildlife tech, JS and FoxPro, from some of the cheapest to quite expensive. They all call predators. I do change up if the sounds seem stale in that area. I have theory that callers have an ambient sound background of the sound playing, unproven but when a caller brand seems to go stale just changing brand of caller has worked. Changing model or sounds doesn't seem to have the same affect as changing brands. I'd rather have two inexpensive callers from m two different companies than one expensive one..

I used my Foxpro Fusion for years, but last year decided to give the Lucky Duck Roughneck a try.

I used it a few times, but ended up taking it back, as I couldn't get past the cheap ass coverings on the caller & remote, & went back to the Fusion.

This year I bought the X24. A little bigger to carry around, of course not helped by adding a Bog Pod tripod to it, but it has more volume that I like over the Fusion.
