Lubricating bullets and/or inside case necks

OK Back to the original discussion....the reason I am wanting to find an alternative to graphite is that I currently shoot a slightly compressed load. If I vibrate the case with the powder inside before seating the bullet there is significantly less crunch or none at all upon seating. Having said that my concern is that the vibrating is causing the dry lube to go from the inside case neck wall to the top of the powder.
I would like to find a good wax like lube that dries quickly.

I can understand your concern , however i dont believe the residue would leave the neck portion without actually wiping it out...

To confirm this you can try dipping your finger in graphite and try seeing how much if it will come off without making a trip to the sink lol.

I'd say if you are tapping your cases and getting the majority of the loose graphite off then whatever is left that may come off would be miniscule at best.

Good luck

I don't think there is much to worry about with the graphite going into the powder - or for what it may do if it did. I quit trying to lube my necks differently for fired and non-fired cases, cases that have few firings VS many, etc. and began coating the bullets. With appropriate tension, even moly bullets will jam well. I have run them in my A/R's with bullets using no cannelure for years.

I have been doing something similar to savagedasher, however I use HBN mixed in with the corn cob. After changing to SS tumbling and annealing this makes a significant improvement in consistency.

This is what I use only when cases are sonic cleaned for first time. I just take a Q-tip and swipe the inside of the necks.
Cases are all in a loading block so it goes fast...easy peasy. :)
