LT32 vs N133

The last time I went to a SR match I didn't notice competitors cranking their tuners(the one's that used them)most did as Lee.

If everyone gets up like synchronized swimmers to move tuners, they're just as lost...as can be. I asked Lee a couple of specific questions and will ask you the same. Frankly, I don't care much what the crowd is doing. If anything, I hope they do as Lee. The questions were simply..
What does a tuner that you don't move do to help and how?
If we use something a specific way and tell others that's how it should be done, I just think it should be easily explained as to why, is all.

Well, I use the Bukys style tuner more as a barrel damper to provide me a larger tuning window at a given charge, and as a short range BR shooter I load at the range based on my last target and atmospheric conditions (temperature, wind, and humidity). Nevertheless, I still like N-133 most of the time. Oddly, I have found LT32 to work the best for me when it’s damp out (like a rainy day).
I've actually measured the amount that the frequency is reduced with a given weight and bbl contour with sophisticated vibration analysis equipment. Of course different bbls will have different natural frequencies but in typical br contours, it was less than about 30% TOTAL FREQUENCY. That's measured, quantified. In reality, it's even less than that due to the shape of the nodal curve. Considerably less, actually. The net was less than 3%. Bukys preached what you're saying and I tried to discuss the physics with him while he was alive but if you knew him, well... you know how that went. Not saying they don't widen the tune window but I'd like to see something that can be verified to support it on target and yes, I've tried, a lot. Technically...it does but the amount is tiny. And, as I asked before, why not just hang a weight at a random place, if it's only for a wider tune window? I wouldn't consider bothering with tuners for that alone, at all. It is tiny and way lost in the noise. To be fair, I've said the same as you for many years but openly stated that it was miniscule.

I'm not saying you should change from what works for you but just understand that in many instances, it's between our ears more than reality. Still matters, though! If you think it helps...it does!

edit..i
I misstated some numbers and edited them in bold above after looking at the data from that test.

Perfect...just saying what is real in the competition world happening today in sanctioned events SR BR at both National matches......

Shoot a tuner if you choose...I've been been beaten by more folks w/o one than with one....whatever floats your boat. And I've been beaten by the best.

And many others....

I've said for several years now that you should either learn tuners or get beat by someone that has. Confusion holds us all back. They're here to stay because the science supports them. Like it or not.
