I just got some LT-32 powder. I need to get some reloading data for 22BR and 6BR. Know of a good source to look for this information? Any information would be appreciated. nilebartram

nile,

I'm using LT-32 in my 6BR 14-twist with 68BTs. My load is "about" 29.4 grains and BR-4 primers. Super accurate! It's a GREAT powder; doesn't seem to be temp sensitive, but I don't have enuf rounds to say for sure.

Good luck and good shooting!

I think I remember reading some where that IMR 8208 XBR was derived from LT-32? I could be wrong but if it is might want to start low on XBR data. That's what I would do.

LT 32 is IMR 8208 (the original stuff). Of course, Western Powder doesn't have rights to use the IMR trademark, so they market it under a name similar to what the original surplus 8208 was sold (T-32, since Thunderbird powder didn't have rights to the IMR trademark, either).

Hodgdon, which does have the IMR trademark (or rights to use it), chose to have ADI make a temp stable derivative of the powder, and sells it as IMR 8208 XBR. The two powders are different, just like IMR 4831 and H4831 are different. The IMR name to 8208 XBR is a bit odd, too, since 8208 XBR is made by ADI using the same methods as the rest of the Hodgdon "Extreme" powder line. It probably would have been better marketed as H8208, but it isn't, and there we have it.

It would be best to go to the accurate web site for a starting place.
LT32 is quite a bit faster burning than IMR8208 XBR.
