LT-31?

The shooter is responsible for everything from the loading bench to the target...everything is important, but the shooter is the single most important just like Tiger Woods is what made Tiger Woods who he is. He was on the golf course and gym, when the others were having breakfast/dinner/socializing ,and working on himself. Tiger's golf clubs could only do what he directed them to do. Benchrest equipment/components
have no mind of their own so the shooter is directing everything.......benchrest is a one man show. Meticulous attention to loading, bench setup, rifle setup in rests, rifle tracking, etc. Benchrest is largely about timing....timing the bullet to the end of the barrel and flag interpretation and adapting to conditions knowing the right time to execute the shot. Group benchrest is the most demanding of the shooting sports and it involves a lot of dedication/time at the bench to be successful.
Bart Sauter has a really informative video on YOUTUBE about benchrest setup.....worth the watch.
It was Tiger Woods (x)wife who took him out of the game.

Mike pretty much sums this up in post 14 above. Anyone criticizing needs to tell their experience shooting lt31.

To be sure, you should not blend powders as a general rule. The people involved in developing these two powders ok blending these two.

I shoot smokeless muzzleloaders and some of you would stroke out if you saw some of the proven blended loads shot. Again, these things have been tested and proven by reliable smiths and shooters. Still, you can’t trust everyone and should not shoot any load that you have not personally worked for your gun and are comfortable shooting.

And yes, I have shot my share of Lt31 and have numerous targets showing Lt30, Lt31 and Lt32 in the same barrel. I actually prefer N133, but it is squirrelly.

Since these benchrest guns only require the tip of the finger to apply about one once of force to the trigger, ...... aside from being able to read the wind, what sort of things are important for the shooter to get right?
Obviously the book of what you don't know about this sport would be very thick. Why do you think that shooters load between matches? Aside from being able to read the wind? You write this as if it is an inconsequential talent, easily acquired. Benchrest shooting is a weakest link thing. If the bags are not right, the friction between them and the rifle not perfect, the condition that the shooter starts his group in suboptimal, his judgement as to how far to hold off if he has to less than perfect.....The list goes on and on.

I can tell you first hand cuz that's the only powder I shot..Mixing LT-32 lot 10 and LT-30 lot 41 was a 50/50 mix..and as people have already said Lot 10 was a slower lot of LT-32 and people have tried other lots of these and the mix will have to be less of LT-30. It will act like your load is too hot and spit a bullet about every group. So mixing it 50/50 better know what lots you are mixing. I still have 10 8# jugs of each..so I don't have to worry about finding the right mix for a while! I will tell you it shoots better mixed then straight LT-32 unless it's lot 1.

Thank you very much for this information...greatly appreciated.
