I hope not to make this too open-ended of a question, since there could be an endless number of right answers. Just yell at me if I need to give more detail.
I have this FN Special Police Rifle (1st version) that I bought used and previously re-barreled with a somewhat lighter-than-original contour 26in bbl (.308). The seller claimed Krieger, but I have no way of knowing. It shoots well, but not what I might have expected, but I'm certainly not going to say it's not the operator.
My goal is a rifle that I can shoot F-Class or similar with, but would also like to try some PRS-type events, although I understand that perhaps the ideal F-Class rifle would be too unwieldy for the latter.
So, I could go many ways. Shoot what I have, knowing it is not well suited to either discipline, but still learn. Re-stock/re-barrel to something in say, 6mm, which doesn't seem cost effective for what I have. Sell off the SPR and get something like a production-class PRS rifle and shoot the heck out of it while learning. Or something else....? Maybe a used F-Class rig?
I wouldn't want t drop a lot of coin for a custom rig until I have given the different disciplines enough time to see what I'll stick with.
Any other options I missed?
