My friend, my mentor and the great bullet making Lowell Hottenstein passed away yesterday on a hospital, surounded by his family and a few good friends, after fighting a cancer.
Mostly known in the Benchrest circles by his exceptionally accurate Hottenstein 68gr. BT bullets, Lowell was also talented shooter and a big heart man, always available to newbies like me asking hundreds of questions about bullet making during the matches (yes, I know... not the best place to do it), to the point that he invited me to spend a day in his shop teaching and showing me everything about how to make such great bullets.
Even not living in the same country, and not in touch frequently, I will miss him and what he represented for the Benchrest comunity.
Rest in piece my friend.
