Low recoil, flat shooting, deer options

I'm currently an A-Bolt .280 Rem (50 something) shooter, primarily for deer in Wisconsin and will be having a shoulder replaced early next year. The Doc told me no more high power rifle trauma on the new shoulder so my question is this...
I love the ballistics of the .280 Rem and am looking for a reasonable replacement to this in a low recoil option for next year's hunt. I shoot the Remington Core Lock 165g. Soft Points, as I've never had a deer walk away from one shot, as I have with the plastic tipped bullets.
I'm looking at the 7mm-08, .260 Rem or .308 Win, and am favoring the .260 Rem for the flat shooter that it seems to be.
Any input on the pros and cons of these and or other options would be valuable in my decision.
Thanks

.243 with a Harrel's ported brake. :D

Think the 260 bridges the gap between the 280 and 243. Has everything needed for a deer gun. The 7-08 is also a great one, especially with the 140-160 bullets. Still the 260 will be the best for recoil sensitivity and still be a perfect deer gun at all ranges.

Brake the rifle you have.

I separated my shoulder years ago while shooting a 375 off the bench. Added a muzzle brake to my 270 back then. Shot like a 222.

Even the 260 will kick a bit. If you go that way, brake it also.

6.5 Creedmoor. The 6.5 rounds have excellent sectional density, great choice of bullets, good availability of factory quality ammo, low recoil, high barrel life. It is certainly worth considering. Also the .25 calibers...such as .257 Roberts, .25-'06.

Depending on how much I intend to shoot at the bench for fun, my choice would be a 6.5 something, either creedmoor, swede, or .260. I would put a brake on any and all of them. They would be loud, but a pleasure to shoot.

Here's a option. If legal to hunt with in your state. I would go with the 260 and them put a suppressor on it. You get the recoil reduction without the noise. THAT would be a pleasure to shoot.

Get yourself a 25-06. I have killed hundreds of white tail deer doing crop damage control for 15 years as well as being a deer hunter for 45 years. I have killed them with about everything between a stick and a 45-70. There is NOTHING that I have used that on average kills deer dead in their tracks with very little recoil like the 25-06 does with bullets between 100 and 117 grs. It shoots flat and is very accurate. Then again there is always the option of going to a "hand cannon" bolt action pistol or T/C Encore in a rifle caliber with a break. Check out the handgun hunting threads on line.

Find someone that has a brake and shoot their rifle. It's not for everyone. I own a couple but hardly use them. Mostly because I really don't like taking ear protection out in the woods with me. Sounds silly but it's just my deal. Mostly sometimes I forget. With a heavy enough rifle(10-12 lb) and using a 243,260,7-08, it won't be necessary in my opinion .

According have to outdoornews.com it is legal to hunt with a supressor in Wisconsin.

This would be my options as well. Get a 30 cal supressor so you can use it on all your rifles 224 up to 30 cal. If you are hunting a box this may make it harder to get the rifle out the window but it cuts recoil way down. Not as much as a brake, but you're ears will thank you.

I am partial to Thunderbeast but a buddy has two Silencer Co Harvesters (as well as 20+ other cans) and swears by them. they are about half the cost of a new ultra 7 TBAC.

The suppressors are a good idea but how long does it take to get one? In Delaware, they are just plain illegal. Go figure.

If you buy one from a local store, 3-5 months for the stamp. If you buy from someone like Silencer Shop, 3 months for the form3 transfer then the 4 or so months for the stamp.

I would say a 243 running either a 105 or 115 hunting vld. Maybe a brake if needed. If it were mine, I'd do a 243 ackley.

.243 or 260 in short action, but would probably take the LA 25-06,handload accordingly.Plastic stock, with recoil reducer surgically implanted. Also go with an adj, raised cheek rest to get your form as good as it can be.Then limbsaver? recoil pad.

Brakes work, but for me the blast takes some of the fun out(noise).

Whatever caliber you chose to go with just put a good brake on it, problem solved....
This!!^^^It will solve all your problems. Even a 300 Win Mag with a good brake will recoil like a 243. And a 243 will feel like a 223.
