Low Price for Primers in Past

1975, my first 1# can of DuPont IMR 4320 was $8.99+ 2% sales tax. 100CCI LRP's were $0.99 +tax. Speer 150 gr Hot Cores box of 100 were about $12.00 as I recall + tax. With my trusty Lee Load All, I quickly fell down the rabbit hole and many thousands of dollars later I consider the friends I made, things I saw and learned, animals I chased, and killed a few, and targets I shot. PRICELESS

Early 70's (I was an early teen) I also traded bottles for 22Lr. The cafe owners in town always had shells in the basement, I would bring in bottles. Trading for 22's and shot shells if I saved up bottles for awhile. First couple times he asked me if my dad knew. A few years later my mom started baking and making breakfasts at the cafe. By than I had a dirt bike and also needed gas money, bottles no longer could keep up with expenses.

In the 2000's I was doing pistol competitions. I was able to buy a 5000 piece carton for $70.

I've got a 100 piece package I bought in the mid 70's. I think the price on that was $0.69.

I bought CCI 200's for 7.90 a brick in 1973. From the White Elephant in Spokane. BR2's were 9.90. Those BR2's were just under 2 hrs pay. If I was doing the same job today, I would be making roughly 7 times as much. Do the math.
At the same time, I think a hamburger at Arctic Circle was 24 cents.
The dollar has lost so much value over the last fifty or sixty years that comparisons almost can't be made. They just don't make sense. WH

when I first started reloading in 1983 primers were 8.95 a brick, powder was $89 for 8lbs bullets 3.50 to 10.00 for 100

They aren`t a self serve merchandise item anymore. Lock and key.
Not at our local Cabelas, bricks are on the normal shelves when in stock. They were behind the counter during the big shortage but this spring they went back to normal shelves and actually some really nice finds on prices too. Trouble is it's totally hit/miss unless you were to visit regularly.

I'll be 75 next Tuesday. I used to ride my pony to a discount hardware store in town to buy 22 shells as a kid. Anybody remember 22 shorts for a nickel a box? Longs, dime a box, long rifles were twenty cents. That's a box of 50! The place was so old they had a hitching rail out front. Nickel soda pop, plus two-cents deposit for the bottle.

It's still a wonderful world we live in, we just need to guard the polls to prevent a repeat of 2020.

Oh man, forgot about the national anthem sign off with waving flag video. !!!

" This concludes out broadcast day ..."
Don't stop there!!!
After the sign off of broadcasting, there was that irritating tuning sound and visual picture for tuning for contrast and tint!!!!!
